
Billy The Kid Pageant and Old Lincoln Days Rally
This annual folk pageant with re-enactors portraying Billy the Kid’s last escape and the notorious Lincoln County War is a regional favorite with food vendors, live music, food, arts & crafts, and a parade.
Walking tours for both Fort Stanton and Lincoln have been scheduled for Friday, August 4th:
- 10 am at Fort Stanton
- 3 pm in Lincoln. 1.5 hour
Tickets to attend both will be $10, under age 16 free, Disabled Veterans free.
There will be food trucks in Lincoln and the festivities start at 6:30 with a concert by local musicians. The Pageant/Play starts at 8 pm. No admissions fee info available quite yet!
Camping at Rob Jaggers Campground
We will be camped near Fort Stanton Historic Site at BLM's Rob Jaggers Campground, 9 miles from Lincoln, NM. In addition to the Lincoln pageant, you will be able to do a Fort Stanton Historic Site Tour.
The campground has 24 water and electric sites; no reservations; first come, first serve. Come early to get a site. There is a dump station. Dark skies for star gazing.

- Camping fee at Rob Jaggers Campground: $20.00 per night; $10.00 per night with Senior Pass.
Other camping opportunities in the area
Snowy River Cave Campground, which is about 1.5 miles from Rob Jaggers campground, does not have electricity. There are 5 sites there, vault toilets, no reservations.
If someone wants to be guaranteed electricity, there is a campground in Capitan, Mama Bear RV Park, which is right near the Smokey Bear Museum and Oso Grill. They do have spaces available, first call, first gets.
