New Mexico Unit - Event Information
Dear New Mexico Unit Members & Affiliates:
Happy April to all our members and affiliates. I hope everyone is planning some great trips in your Airstreams. Please come join us at our exciting 2024 rallies:
May 2-5, 2024: Registration is open for the Salt Missions Rally, Estancia, NM. Visit our website airstreamclub.org/new-mexico and scroll down to Unit Events List. Join us for a long weekend at a NM Unit member's private ranch on the east side of the Manzano Mountains. Activities for this boon docking event include a tour of the nearby historic Salt Missions, lunch at the old Shaffer Restaurant in Mountainair, a corn hole tournament, hiking, and some delicious meals.
The Salt Missions sites are part of the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument. The three historic locations, Abo, Quarai, and Gran Quivira, have impressive remains of 17th century Spanish missions, built beside smaller ruins of ancient pueblos. Don't miss this unique opportunity to explore the fascinating history of Spanish colonialism.
July 25-28, 2024: Registration is now open for A Night at the Santa Fe Opera Rally in partnership with the Arizona Airstream Club. Visit airstreamclub.org/arizona and scroll down to the Events List to find the link for registration. Be sure to order breakfast burritos for Friday morning and buy tickets to attend the backstage opera tour Saturday morning. A catered Italian tailgate picnic will precede the Opera on Saturday night.
Remember to make your campsite reservations AND purchase your opera tickets ASAP. See below for info.
We will be camping at Santa Fe Skies RV Park where they are holding 20 sites for our group ($76/night). Call them at 877-565-0451 or 505-473-5946 and tell them you are with the Airstream Club Opera Rally.
The opera we will be attending is Donizetti's "Elixir of Love" July 27, 2024, at 8:30 pm. Reserve your own tickets at the Santa Fe Opera website: https://official.santafeopera.org/11425/11426. You can also call the box office at 800-280-4654 or 505-986-5900.
September 26-29, 2024: Blue Skies & Ranges Rally at the NRA/Whittington Center, Raton, NM. This will be a "Buddy Rally", which means you can invite your friends who don't own an Airstream. The Whittington Center has a spacious campground and numerous outdoor shooting ranges. Optional trap shooting and a catered dinner are part of the fun. Registration opens July 1, 2024.
October 24-27, 2024: Caballo Lake Halloween Rally with the Arizona Unit, Caballo Lake, NM. Don't miss this fun annual event at beautiful Caballo Lake State Park. More info to come.
Early November 2024: Urban Rally, Artesia, NM, during their Balloons and Tunes Festival. We're going to try again to make this happen in 2024. Stay tuned.
