Enjoy a three-day weekend in beautiful Central Oregon at LaPine State Park Campground. LaPine State Park occupies a scenic spot on the trout-filled Upper Deschutes and Fall rivers. It’s 10 miles of trails afford plenty of views for sightseers and wildlife watchers, and its campground is next door to a landscape of past volcanic activity and Cascade Mountain wilderness.
Things to see include The Big Tree (500 year old Ponderosa Pine), the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, which includes the Newberry Crater, Lava Lands visitor center, Lava Cast Forest, and the Lava River cave. We are also close to the High Desert Museum, Sunriver Village (great for lunch) and the city of Bend.
