Lewis and Clark Expedition Trail Caravan starts in May and runs up to 4th of July with an adventure focus on significant locations along the 1804-5 National Historic Trail. There will be an option to remain in the final group campground reservation through 4th of July celebrations.

We will start from St Charles Mo, near Camp Dubois and Cahokia Courthouse in Illinois where so much of the Corps of Discovery expedition preparations were done in 1803.  We will travel beside the Missouri River, through Lemhi and Lolo Pass, beside the Snake River, and Columbia River and end at Fort Stevens State Park Oregon near historic Fort Clatsop. Similar to the Corps of Discovery adventure, 1/3 of our travel will be in the vast Big Sky County of Montana.  Enroute we will visit Lewis and Clark locations from Fort Osage, Fort Mandan, Knife River Indian Village, Fort Abraham, Fort Benton, Lemhi Pass, Great Falls of Montana, Lolo Pass, Sacajawea State Park, and at least six national, state, and/or local Lewis & Clark interpretive centers and museums. Other activities include touring the Steamship Arabia, Truman Presidential Library, attending the Medora Musical, Fort Peck Summer Theater, Last Chance Wagon Ride, experiencing a boat ride down Hells Gates Canyon, 4 days in Yellowstone National Park, visit to the Western Antique Aero Plane (WAAAM) airfield and museum, paddlewheel dinner cruise on Columbia River, and much more.

Consider obtaining an annual America the Beautiful—the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass for this caravan and come prepared to experience history, enjoy 9 states – especially significant time in Montana, 19 total stops, 9 government campgrounds and 1 dry campground, 9 stops for 3 to 4 nights, and pure fun of sharing it all with fellow Airstreamers.
