Chili Full Size

This year our community is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Wilderness designation and the 10th anniversary of Silver City as a gateway city for the Continental Divide Trail Plan on joining us Thursday Aug 22 to Sunday Aug 25. We have some activities planned for those interested.

• Morning Hiking,
• Downtown Walks and Shopping,
• Visiting the Gila Hotsprings.
• Dinner at the Buckhorn in Pinos Altos
• Visit a beautiful and thriving Benedictine Monastery
• Visit Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument

As we get closer, we will be asking attendees about their interests. Deadline for your registration is Aug 1. This is an Airstream Club rally. If you are not a member, but own an Airstream, and would like to attend as a Guest, please contact the hosts.

If you would like to come earlier or stay longer you are welcome to do that, just let the folks at Rose Valley know your plans. If some of you are here early and would like to, we can put together a dinner or meet at a local restaurant.

Thursday night 5:30 Welcome Happy Hour at the Group Area. Bring your beverage and a snack. We will also have the margarita machine going.

Friday morning Tom will lead any interested campers on an easy hike. During the afternoon, spend some time exploring Silver City's fun downtown. Visit some of the galleries and have a drink at Little Toad Creek Brewery and Distillery

There is also a wonderful museum downtown. For those of you with interest in military history, take
a short drive to Fort Bayard and visit this historic fort and the national cemetery there.

Friday night Happy Hour at the Group Area at 5:00. Bring your beverage and a snack. For those
who want to join us we’ll be heading 7 miles north for dinner in Pinos Altos at the Buckhorn Saloon
and Opera House. The Buckhorn is quite something to see with rich history and amazing artifacts
on the walls. Pinos Altos was a thriving metropolis in the mid 1800’s, now a small community with
a fun outlaw past.

Saturday morning at 9:00 we will enjoy another hike on the nearby Dragonfly trail. Take time to
grab fresh roasted green chile to take home with you.

Saturday Night Happy Hour at 5:30 is at the Old Courthouse in Pinos Altos. Come and see our
restoration of this 180 year old building. We can share a potluck dinner with some more margaritas

Each morning there will be coffee with muffins and fruit in the group area. Early Bird Tom Kirk will
have that going by 7:00.

The Rally fee is $10 per person. This doesn’t include dinner at the Buckhorn which will be a
personal expense if you choose to go.

Rose Valley RV Ranch has reserved their event area and 22 spots for full hookups. You need to
call them to reserve a spot at (575) 534-4277.. Back-in sites and Pull-thru sites are $47 and $55
per night, respectively. Camping fees will be discounted 15% for the Rally Just in case your
Airstream is not feeling up to travel, Rose Valley also has casitas you can rent. Let the office know
if that interests you. Be sure to let them know you are with the 4CU Airstream group.
