Long Lake Park is on the shore of Long Lake. Boating, fishing and swimming activities are available to those interested. Dogs welcome but must be on a leash.
The Alpena area offers walking and biking trails. Also, the Thunder Bay River runs through Alpena and has a wildlife sanctuary that is open to kayaks and canoes.
Alpena Shipwreck Tours provide glass bottom boat tours to explore the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary's shipwrecks. The tour rate is $39 per person. MAC has reserved seats on the 3pm tour on Saturday, August 9 and we have a group rate for this tour at $34 per person. Please indicate your interest on the rally registration form (below).
Alpena is also home to the Great Lakes Maritime Heritage Center which includes the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum. The Boat Tours and the Maritime Heritage Center are located at: 500 W. Fletcher Street, Alpena, MI 49707.
After booking your site with Long Lake Campground, please register for the rally with MAC by completing our online form: Shipwrecks of Lake Huron MAC Rally Registration Form The rally fee is $15 rig and is collected though the registration form.
