Cajun Country Caravan 2025

On the Cajun Caravan you will experience 17 days/16 nights of Cajun culture and hospitality at its roots.   You will learn about French Cajun history, culture, live music, environs and experience a variety of local dishes.  Highlights include:  visiting a crawfish farm and trawling for your own crawfish followed by a private crawfish boil right on the owner’s property.  You will visit the capital city of Baton Rouge and visit historical governmental sites (the Old Governor’s Mansion) and visit the Rural Life Museum.  You will visit historic old mansions and learn about early life in Cajun Country, dancing in the oldest original Cajun dance hall and take a locally guided boat swamp tour where we usually see alligators and other wildlife in their natural habitat among the beautiful Cypress trees.  You will have a wine and cheese reception, opportunities for gumbo, jambalaya, Po’boy sandwiches, and other dining experiences.  Rice fields, Avery Island, home of Tabasco sauce and beautiful Jungle Gardens Park are all at your fingertips.  Visit Evangeline Oak on the Bayou Teche, where in Longfellow’s poem, Evangeline waited for her Gabriel. Tour the oldest operating rice mill in the United States. All this and more awaits you on the Cajun Country Caravan 2025. As the French say: “Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler,” Let the Good Times Roll.
