Solar Eclipse

Total Eclipse 2024 Rally in Lampasas, Texas

Saturday, April 6th through Tuesday, April 9th, 2024

Hosts:

  • Leon and Janet H.

  • Cathy and Randy F.

  • Barbara and Jeff E.

NOTE: As Of March 24, 2024 The Rally Is Full And We Are Not Taking Any Waitlist Names

Please join the 4CU for the last chance (in most) of our lifetimes to experience a total eclipse of the sun in Lampasas, Texas.  There will be a total of 140 Airstreams.

The total eclipse will occur on Monday, April 8th, 2024.  At a length of 4 minutes 26 seconds, eclipse totality will be almost double the duration of the 2017 eclipse, and Lampasas is in an optimal area of the path offering almost the maximum possible time of totality.  The next total solar eclipse visible in the United States will occur in 2044.

The venue we have chosen is Texas Legato Winery in Lampasas, Texas, which is about 60 miles northwest of Austin.  There is a three-night minimum stay and it is dry camping. No honey wagon service will be available.  Some flush toilets are available, porta-potties will be on site.

Anticipate eclipse traffic conditions but enjoy the adventure! Travel with stocked pantry and cooler and arrive with full water tanks for dry camping. Dry Camping means No Electrical, Water, or Sewer Hookups!

Please download and read the Letter Sent By Texas Legato Winery which contains detailed information, the best way to approach the winery (don't depend on your GPS!), what to expect when you arrive, etc.

Details:

Venue Fees:  $500 total paid directly to the venue.

4CU Rally Fee:  $20 Per Person.

There are no refunds for cancellations.

Registration is open to all WBCCI Members.

Registration:

Contact the venue directly at info@texaslegatowinery.net or 512-556-9600 and tell them you would like to register for the 4CU Eclipse Rally.  They will make payment arrangements.

After you have signed up with them email leon@boondocking.net - he will pass along the procedures to register with us and pay the 4CU rally fees.  We had to do it this way to get around some limitations in JotForm to make sure we didn't overbook.
