Choo Choo 16 - 19 May 2459 US-280 West Cordele GA 31015 Located on Lake Blackshear, an 8,600-acre lake, known for Bass fishing, Georgia Veteran’s State Park has a lot to offer. The SAM line train begins inside the park, and travels to Plains, GA, and
Archery and back. Explore Jimmy Carter’s hometown, go shopping, and sample some peanut butter treats. Then travel to Archery, GA, the location of Jimmy Carter’s boyhood home. Andersonville National Historic Site is located 30 miles from the park. A former Confederate prisoner-of-war camp during the Civil War, the NPS has done a great job preserving the location also known as Fort Sumter. Anderson National Cemetery is located on the 26-acre property. The famous Salt Lick Sausage (SL Sausage) is also from Cordele. If you like sausage, this is for YOU.

A shuttle is also available to the famous Shell Island.

Florida Caverns 7 - 9 Feb 3345 Caverns Road Marianna FL 32446 Cool air, the sound of dripping water, a visual array of mystifying stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones and draperies - this is what greets visitors when they explore the otherworldly depths of Florida Caverns.

The day-use portion of Florida Caverns State Park is open daily, 8 a.m. to sunset (Central). Cavern tours are available Thursday through Monday. Cavern tour tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and may be purchased in person at the Florida Caverns Gift Shop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Central) on the day of arrival. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early as tours sometimes sell out, especially on weekends and holidays. A limited number of online reservations may be made at FloridaCavernsGiftShop.com.
