This is the closest campground to the Carlsbad Caverns National Park which offers both group Ranger-guided tours and self-guided tours daily. The Pecos River runs through Carlsbad with possible kayak and paddle boat rentals.
Nearby areas of interest include Guadalupe National Park with a hike to the highest point in Texas, as well as the Living Zoo and Desert Gardens, the White Sands National Park and a casino near Ruidoso.

You will need to reserve a site with the campground and supply a valid site or confirmation number when registering with CAC.
