Sign-ups will be the afternoon of the first happy hour.

Arrival is Thursday, 9am to 3pm, please, and Friday, 8am to dusk. Please no trailer traffic leaving until AFTER the festival has ended each day and we encourage you to stay until Monday after breakfast. We’ve had a 34’ Excella join us for years, so any size Airstream is welcome!

Rally Information:

We are looking forward to our annual officer installation dinner and volunteer service rally at the 45th annual Cracker Christmas festival at Fort Christmas, in Christmas, Florida again this year the first weekend in December. We will arrive Thursday, November 30th and depart Monday, December 4th.

FAC been volunteering at this rally for over 25 years and it has become a wonderful tradition for our club. Remember, it’s the only time they ever allow people to camp at Fort Christmas, so it’s an amazing opportunity you won’t want to miss. Comments/reviews from past attendees were, “Wow”, “Amazing”, “Christmistasic”, “Non Grinchity”, and more!!!

The typical schedule is a half-day of light work on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while enjoying the other half-day at the festival or exploring one of two beautiful wildlife management areas, only a few miles away. Light work consists of moving tables and chairs, changing trash cans and liners, being a house monitor, or something of that nature. Whatever the task is, teamwork has always made it fun and easy, and a fabulous way to get to know the people in the club.

This is a semi Boondocking Rally, with a few spots having a small amount of electricity and water and other sites are full boondocking. We have a specific area for people that will want to charge up their batteries with generators during scheduled times, a specific area for our solar savers, and a specific area for the “electrified and wet” sites. Please plan on boondocking as we only have a limited number of sites with electric and water.

The good news is, the weather is usually great and air conditioners are rarely needed and your propane furnace will keep you snug as a bug in a rug.

For now, the details are,

an FAC sponsored installation dinner on Thursday night and a Fort Christmas sponsored volunteer appreciation dinner on Friday night. I will have more details when I meet with them in the next 2 weeks and I will share them with you when I send the initial itinerary.

As always, there will be fun things to do during the non-work times and evenings including, but not limited to, games, hikes, bike rides, birding, photo opportunities, sunrises, stargazing or even ghost hunting... there’s never a lack of fun when you get a bunch of FAC members together to help out an organization !!
