Hop Valley

The Hope Valley Rally is being moved to Lanontan SRA Beach 7 because of cold and possible winter weather in the Sierra Nevada.

The Nevada State Park’s website: http://parks.nv.gov/parks/lahontan describes Lahontan, “Named after an ancient lake, Lahontan Reservoir was originally built as part of an irrigation project to water nearby farmlands. With willows and cottonwoods scattered along 69 miles of shoreline, the park is one of most popular places in Nevada to boat, fish, water-ski, horseback ride, camp and enjoy the outdoors year-round. Canoeing from Fort Churchill to the lake makes for a great day trip when conditions allow. Wild horses, bobcat, fox and deer share the park with a variety of birds, including migratory waterfowl, pelicans, herons, egrets and
hawks. Lahontan is also a nesting site for bald eagles.”

Lahontan is only 50+ miles from Reno and weather is going to be almost perfect, mid 70s daytime, low 40s at night and no chance of rain (at the moment) so join us even if only for the day. Share in our evening potluck meals or just share our evening fellowship and hopefully a campfire or two.

Remember there are day use and camping fees at Lahontan ($5 & $15 per day) and we’ll glady accept your rally \Kitty donation ($5 per n i g h t ) . Nevada residents can use their yearly Annual
Entrance Permit or All Access Permit to eliminate some or all of
the fees.

Least we forget, come out to Lahontan for the SNU Business Meeting, then stay to kick some tires and tell some lies (motorcycle lingo)!
