Utah Loop Feature

Do you have a few weeks this fall to get away with your airstream and explore Utah?  If so, consider the Utah Loop Caravan beginning September 19th through October 7th.  This is the first Colorado Airstream Club caravan and will be the ultimate airstream western adventure.


The Utah Loop Caravan begins and ends in Grand Junction, Colorado.  This caravan will take 15 airstreams beyond Grand Junction to Natural Bridges National Monument, through Utah's Bicentennial Highway to Capitol Reef National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Antelope Canyon, Lake Powell, and Monument Valley. 

Attendees will make their own campground reservation at 6 sites. Optional activities (tours, dinners) will be booked by each attendee.  

A complete list of campgrounds and instructions for reserving sites, tours and dinners will be sent to registered members.

There will be no waitlist for this event due to multiple campgrounds.

Day 1 - Check-in at Grand Junction, Colorado - Full Hook-ups (5 hours from Ft. Collins)
Welcome and Introduction to the Utah Loop Caravan.
Enjoy the riverside location and the amenities of the campground.
Walk/ride up the Colorado River trail to Edgewater Brewery or further into Downtown for a Beverage/Dinner.

Day 2 and 3 - Explore Grand Junction Area
Suggestions:
Bike the Colorado River Trail
Wine tasting in the Grand Valley
Tour/Hike Colorado National Monument
Tour/Hike the Grand Mesa (fall colors)
Golf Redlands Mesa or Devils Thumb
Downtown restaurants and pubs

Day 4 - Travel to Monticello UT - No Hook-ups (3 hour drive)

Day 5 - Explore Natural Bridges National Monument area
Suggestions:
Hikes to various natural bridges, or drive to bridge overlooks
Mountain biking trails from the campground

Day 6 - Travel to Torrey UT - Full Hook-ups, (3.5 hour drive)
Enjoy Utah Hiway 95 the Bicentennial-byway, one of the most beautiful drives in the US.

Day 7 and 8 - Explore Capital Reef NP area
Suggestions:
Scenic highway (new pavement this year)
Hikes within the park
Dinner at the Hunter Gatherer restaurant

Day 9 - Travel to Bryce City, UT - Full Hook-ups, (2.5 hour drive)

Day 10 and 11 - Explore Bryce Canyon Area
Suggestions:
Drive the scenic road to all the overlooks
Bike on the new bike path from the CG to Inspiration Point in the park
Bike on bike path from the CG to Bryce Canyon Pines Restaurant for breakfast
Try out some of the hikes in the park

Day 12 - Travel to Page, AZ - Full Hook-ups, (2.5 hour drive)

Day 13 and 14 - Explore Page, AZ Area
Suggestions:
Antelope Canyon - All tours are by guide only
The Upper canyon is more expensive and requires a tour bus/truck ride to site
The Lower canyon is walking distance from the tour office
Horseshoe bend - City of Page, AZ charges a fee to park and view the bend
Boat rentals/tours on Lake Powell

Day 15- Travel to Monument Valley - Full Hook-ups, (2.5 hour drive)

Day 16 and 17 - Explore Monument Valley
Suggestions:
Guided tours
Self guided tours/hikes

Day 18 - Travel to Grand Junction - Full Hookups (4.5 hour drive)
Extra nights should be available if you want more rest before heading home.

Day 19 - Goodbye and travel home.

Prices per site at all campgrounds range from $14 to $83.  Estimated total campground cost per camper is $1025 over 18 nights.

We will not collect money (kitty) for this event. Each registrant will reserve their site at each stop using a group reservation code or URL. The host will provide links for recommended activities to all participants. Some activities like Antelope Canyon tours, Lake Powell boat rental/tours, and restaurants should be made in advance of the arrival date.
