Enjoy the nature wonder of waterfalls! This park features a 78-foot cascading waterfall, mountain streams, winding trails and a scenic lake. A 43-acre lake is in the William Houck Area. Popular activities include swimming, boat rentals, hiking and camping. In addition to the state park, there is also Catoctin Mountain Park run by the National Park Service.
Thurmont is home to several wineries: Springfield Manor Winery & Distillery, Links Bridge Vineyards and Catoctin Breeze Vineyard & Winery. In addition, Catoctin Mountain Orchard is near by. Other nearby locations are the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes and the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
The campground has 30 amp power and water spigots throughout the loop. There are 2 dump stations at the exit. Cell phone service is spotty. The loop is pet friendly.
