Our first stop will be Twin Streams Campground in Morris, PA beginning on October 17. This is at the south end of the Grand Canyon of PA and we will have a few days to explore the area. Twin Streams is FHU with a beautiful stream, picnic tables, fire rings and propane is available. They also have some meeting space if we need it. We will need to fill our fresh water tanks before we leave Twin Streams.
For the second stop, we aim to be closer to Cherry Springs State Park, a designated dark sky park, for the new moon on October 21st. Cherry Springs is dedicated to phenominal views of the milky way and the view is clearest when there is no moon. You are welcome to camp at Cherry Springs, but they do not have hookups of any kind. For this reason, our group is heading to Ole Bull State Park in Cross Fork, PA (modern electric sites) beginning on October 20th. This park is a few miles away so the plan is to carpool to Cherry Springs in the evening.
Bring your telescopes, all heavenly viewing equipment, and some warm clothes. This min-caravan promises great leaf peeping, sky viewing, and fall outdoor fun
