The Centre Wellington Sports Community Complex is close to Zehr’s, Canadian Tire and other commonly needed shopping. Elora, Elmira and other rural towns are close by, so you’ll have no problem keeping busy.
Entering the Sports Complex from Belsyde Ave, take the first driveway to the left and follow it around behind the building. We’ll be camping in the field on the left. Check out the satellite view on Google maps.
About the campground: Fairly level grassy field, but you may need levellers. There are 80 sites with water and 15-amp service - you will need a 15-to-30 amp adapter (e.g. the infamous "dog-bone") and 100' of power cord. Water is supplied through multi-spigot outlets so please bring an extra water hose and a Y-splitter. There is a comfort station with toilets and showers which should be open to us – these aren’t handicap accessible. There’s a dump station on site. No ground fires are permitted but off the ground fire bowls and propane fire bowls are permitted.
The event will take place at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex which is a new venue for our Club and has a fabulous commercial kitchen which we are able to use for our Saturday night dinner. We will be looking for volunteers to help with this new experience.
We have currently arranged, 2 Historical presenters on Friday evening, a cooking workshop hosted by two professional chefs (owners of Skilpadcooks)on Saturday morning, entertainment by Frankie and the Fairlanes on Saturday night and movie night on Sunday.
Food: We will be having cookies, coffee/tea on Friday evening and Sunday evening, Continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning with a hot dinner with dessert on Saturday evening.
Your Goody Bag will have the entire schedule and tourist brochures for the weekend with plenty of free time allowed for you to explore the Fergus/Elora area which has plenty of historical sites, shopping and wonderful places to see. The Sportsplex also is a beautiful building with an indoor swimming pool that is a great activity for you and your family. The fees can be found on line and they ask that you book your date and time at least a week in advance of attending this event.
