Dark Sky

There is an abundance of hiking and biking in the area. Many trails lead to petroglyphs, slot canyons, hidden lakes, and sand caves. Town amenities are just a few miles away. Kanab has several great coffee shops, grocery stores, and off-road adventures.

Dark Sky RV is an amazing place to stay!

It sits on 40 acres of untouched sagebrush with views of the Red Cliffs, Vermillion Cliffs, and the Kaibab Plateau. This family run boutique RV haven offers hospitality, great views, and cool amenities. Guests can rent e-bikes, jeeps, and off-road vehicles, and family dogs are allowed to go on your adventures in the rental vehicles.

Note: The 4CU has already paid for 14 RV sites and members will pay their site fees directly to the 4CU when they register.

Potential Activities

Best Friends, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operates the nation’s largest sanctuary for homeless animals and provides adoption, spay/neuter, and educational programs. They offer tours, volunteer time, and hiking. The sanctuary is located in Angel Canyon, which is an ideal place for people who love nature as much as they love animals. The nonprofit owns nearly 3,700 acres of property and leases another 30,000+ acres from the Bureau of Land Management.

Star Party: Enjoy a night of star gazing onsite provided by Stellar Vista Observatory. They bring a telescope and will help us understand what we are looking at. Anyone with a full frame sensor camera could also photograph the spectacular Utah night sky. Small groups pay a donation.  If the entire group opts in it is $20 per person. After registration closes, we will circle back to this event.

3. Kanab Goat Adventures. That’s right, hiking with goats is something we can explore!
