Come join us in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley for the Capitol Kickoff Rally, April 28 through May 1, 2022. 20 full hookup sites are being held for our club at Luray RV Resort on the Shenandoah River (note new name). The group rate is $55 per night plus $9.95 daily resort fee and taxes.
The campground itself is located on a bend of the Shenandoah River and allows you to bring your own inner tube or raft to float the river as many times as you would like. The water will be cold this time of year (60 degrees) but if it is sunny it may be warm enough to do a float if you keep your legs up out of the water on your tube or raft.
Bruce and I will be cooking a pulled pork dinner for Friday night and we will have a potluck on Saturday night.
Bear Mountain Ziplines is located less than 15 minutes from the campground. They will give a $5 rebate when you check-in if you tell them you are with the DC Airstream Group. They have 5 times on Friday and 5 more on Saturday with 8 people per timeslot. You can make a reservation ahead at https://bearmountainadventure.com to ensure you have a spot or wait and take your chances grouping up with others at the Rally.
Shenandoah National Park is about a half hour drive and Luray Caverns is under 10 minutes away.
The locals rave about the takeout garlic bread knots at IL VESUVIO Italian Restaurant and Pizzeria in Luray.
