Our May Rally will be held at Wild Horse State Recreation Area. Nevada says "Remote and remarkable, Wild Horse State Recreation Area is open year round. The reservoir near the park is a popular fishing site, with rainbow and German brown trout, small mouth bass, yellow perch and catfish awaiting able anglers. .... Extraordinary wildflowers blanket the park in the spring, and summers offer swimming, boating, camping and hiking. Although hunting is not allowed in the park, the campground is a popular base camp for hunting in the surrounding area. Wildlife includes pronghorn, mule deer and elk as well as a variety of waterfowl and upland game birds."
The campground has 34 sites with table, canopy and fire pit. No hookups, but restrooms and showers are within easy walking distance. Water faucets and a dump station are available during summer months only.
We'll encourage the SNU's camp-chair talks and exercise, expect the Roots to bring canoe or kayaks and some may want to caravan (tow vehicles without out Airstreams) to nearby Jarbidge, NV.
Like Fort Churchill, we recommend you consider making reservations at reservenevada, com. Wild Horse SRA is located 350 miles east of Reno.
Want more; the Roots hope others join them on an after-rally caravan to Lamoille Canyon or elsewhere in Great Basin Desert.
