Cabot Trail

This will mark the second running of this Region 2 caravan.  The first, in 2022, proved to be very popular and we were encouraged to run it again.  Our plans are still being finalized but we plan to start on August 19 at the northern end of Cape Breton Island and spend the next 36 days exploring the sights, sounds and tastes of Canada’s the three Maritime Provinces: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.  Along the way we will see historic forts, coastal villages and museums.  We will experience the cultures of this beautiful part of Canada, settled by the Acadians, Scots, Irish and English, all interacting in various ways with the indigenous population.  We will go underground and learn of the dreadful conditions for the coal miners of the past century, we will go whale watching and we will go out in a lobster boat to learn about the lobster fishery.  Celtic fiddle music will get your toes tapping and everywhere there are fresh lobsters, scallops and mussels.  If we are lucky, we may even get to visit Oak Island.  Who knows what other adventures you will find?  From the world’s highest tides to red sandy beaches, the Maritimes will call you back again and again.

Our style is to run caravans that are somewhat laid back, with lots of free time to do your own thing.  Some people like to bike, some like to hike, some like to shop and some just like to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.  Whatever your interests may be, there will be opportunities to enjoy your favourite pastime.

Our caravan Kitty Fee is $3400 Cdn for an Airstream with a solo traveler, $4500 Cdn for an Airstream with 2 people, and $1100 for each additional person.  Sign up soon to ensure your spot.  Contact the Caravan leader, Kerry Mattila, at for more information.
