We will camp at the Rivercamp RV park, two miles west of the event.
There will be a combination of full and partial hookups and dry campsites. They will be assigned by your host on a first come, first served basis as reservations are booked for the rally. Please understand that there will be no changing of sites after arrival to the RV Park. The rate for all campsites is the same and are a flat rate covering a full 5 nights.
No partial nights can be reserved. For those that are assigned in dry camp sites, there are provisions for you to top off water tanks on site and we will have portable tanks for dumping purposes if needed during the rally. The campground can transport the portable tank to a dump facility onsite.
The Meeker area has many things to explore; there are ample bike and hiking trails and beautiful drives in the nearby mountains, like the Trapper Lake Wilderness area. Spend a day exploring town, going to the museum and drop into the historic Meeker Hotel. More information can be found at: https://meekerchamber.com/
Sheepdog trial information can be found at https://meekersheepdog.com/ On the Meeker course, dogs are sent 600 yards to fetch the sheep and then bring them into the infield while working them quietly and safely through a set of obstacles. If you are interested in sponsoring a dog, go to the website (above) for more information. You will need to purchase your tickets to the event in advance at the same site by clicking on the tickets link. Please be sure to buy your tickets right after registering for the rally.
We will have evening happy hours at the campground. Bring your hors d'oeuvres to share, along with your beverage and chair and join in on the camaraderie. On Friday, September 5th, we will have a catered Italian dinner at the campground. On Saturday September 6th, the town hosts the Jammin Lamb Fest. It sells out in advance and you can buy your tickets in advance here: https://meekersheepdog.com/jamminlamb/
If you have a stadium chair, be sure to bring it. It makes the bleacher seating more comfortable at the dog trials and don’t forget your sunscreen.
We will again be sponsoring the food drive to benefit the local food bank and also a special contest again this year. Watch for more information after you register and pay for the rally.
