What qualifies as “full-time” living?

Ask ten full-timers and you’ll get ten different answers! Some members are stationary while others travel continuously. This SIG maintains that there is no “right way” to engage in full-time living. If your life is genuinely centered around your Airstream as your primary home, you’re a Full-Timer!

Our SIG intends to support members who are actively living, or seriously exploring living, in their Airstream full-time, and to provide general member education.

Do I need to be full-time already to participate?

Absolutely not. Dreamers, researchers, and those in the countdown phase are welcome. Learning the ropes from others is the best way to ensure longevity and success when you finally purge the sticks-and-bricks house and hit the road. Is the SIG an Intra-Club?

No, and that’s by design. The Full-Timer SIG is a Special Interest Group (SIG), which means we purposely stripped away overhead, and utilized existing Club resources. There are no formal local governance structures, no separate bank accounts to manage, no mandatory administrative roles, and no extra dues. It’s a lightweight framework built purely for connection.

Does the SIG host rallies or caravans?

The SIG itself doesn’t manage formal, sanctioned rallies or caravans. Instead, we behave like a true neighborhood: we use existing Club infrastructure, major events, and private communication channels to organically organize our own meetups, caravans, and adjacent campouts. 

Is there a cost to join?

Nope. The SIG is completely free to join for any active ACI member.

How often will I hear from the SIG?

We know how precious mobile data bandwidth is! We keep our digital footprint lightweight by updating the Current Announcements section of this microsite and utilizing existing Club publications to disseminate information. 

Can members help shape future programming?

Please do! This group is entirely member-driven. It will evolve and shift based on the real-world needs, challenges, and ideas of the full-time community. Your feedback and suggestions aren't just welcome—they are the literal roadmap for this SIG.
