This is truly a rally for those who love the outdoors. Crane Prairie RV Park sits right on the shores of Crane Prairie Reservoir. There are multiple types of boats to rent- outboards, pontoon boats, canoes -as well as paddleboards. There’s a bait and tackle store for anglers and fishing advice given for free, a general store, basketball court, laundry facilities, walking trails and a beach. Our RV sites sit on the top level of the resort, surrounded by trees and very nicely kept up. Also, it is quite private.  Next door, there is a US forest service campground, a very big one, and walking through there will be a good workout for the day.

Be sure to bring your warm clothes, just in case. The last time we camped here as a group, it snowed, and we had to rent a tent and heaters to keep warm! But it was a great adventure and one we still talk about.

Sunriver is an easy drive as is LaPine, for groceries or whatever else you might need. It’s also not far from the Waldo Lake Wilderness for great hikes.

We hope by September, we can perhaps share a BBQ and maybe even a Labor Day potluck – will just have to wait and see but we have our fingers crossed.
