Jerome, Arizona’s  Population maybe around 500 people. An old mining town and ghost town, once listed as one of the Top 10 Coolest Small Towns in America” and called The Wickedest Town in the West!” The town is built on the steep slopes of Cleopatra Hill with amazing views from its 5000 foot perch.

Jerome has 88 miles of mine shafts under its hillsides and they have, in the past, given gravity a bit of help. So…its literally the place where structures fascinate…and sometimes fall.

The old Wild West jailhouse slid down the mountainside and is now about 200 feet from where it was built. The jail is not the only building in town that isnt quite where its builder left it.

There was quite the hungry crowd at the Haunted Hamburger…perfect name.

Oh…and the House of Joy is still standing…it just provides a different kind of joy than it did back in the old mining days 😉. It is indeed a cool little spooky town.
