The Region 4 Rally is a dynamic gathering that brings together the members of Region 4. It provides a wonderful opportunity for attendees to forge new friendships, build lasting relationships, rekindle old acquaintances, and just have fun.
Lewisburg, WV, is located in the beautiful Greenbrier Valley, often called “the coolest small town in America.” Lewisburg is a registered historic town and one of West Virginia’s most walkable. It was featured in Fodor’s Travel as one of “America's 25 Cutest Main Streets in Small(er) Towns” and was also listed in Southern Living’s “Best Small Towns to Retire.” A variety of boutique shops, antique stores, and art galleries line its main street.
You will visit The Greenbrier resort and the “Bunker,” Take a 90-minute underground tour of this former U.S. Government Relocation Facility known as "The Bunker." You will hear and see how the bunker was constructed and maintained, preserved behind 25-ton steel and concrete blast doors hidden in the resort. In 1958, "a new wing" of the resort was a cover-up. In reality, a concrete-encased fallout shelter was being buried 720 feet underground. It was intended to withstand an indirect nuclear attack and house all the members of Congress as well as a support staff of hundreds.
