Cavalcade of Horses, Columbus NM

From the Columbus Chamber of Commerce:

The 2nd Saturday in March marks the Anniversary of the Punitive Expedition in chasing Villa after his attack on Columbus, NM. The Cabalgata Binacional or Binational Cavalry Trail Remembrance Ride are enthusiastic riders from Mexico and the USA join together in peace and unity to honor the casualties of 1916 Raid.

Important information:

  • Registration for rally fee of $16 per rig. If you should need to cancel, see our refund policy on our Documents page.
  • Click here to pay your rally fee if you have already made your reservation at the state park.
  • Make your parking reservations with the state park ASAP. This campground fills up for this event.
  • The washrooms and dump station are closed due to technical issues.
  • Port a potties provided.
  • Dump stations are available in Deming. (more info forthcoming)
  • Water and Electric sites are $14 per night unless you have a NM State Park Pass. Water only sites $10 per night.
  • We will be at the North end of the campground with a group shelter.
  • Be sure to check details on the nm website as some of the south sites do have electricity.
  • The organizers of this rally are Ruth Vollmer and Lisa Sly.
