The Greater Houston Airstream Club was initially named The Texas Coastal Plains Unit when the unit was formed in 1975 by a group of members from the Texas Gulf Coast Unit who felt the need for a Houston based unit.  The unit's name was changed to the Greater Houston Airstream Club in July 2017 to tie the club's name to  the primary area our members are located.
