Who are Indie Streamers?

Do you Airstream solo some or all of the time? If so, you know there are special challenges to traveling alone that may not be addressed by current media.  The Airstream Club International is proud to announce the establishment of a new Intra-Club, “Indie Streamers” (short for Independent Airstreamers), dedicated to creating a supportive community of those who travel on their own.

Regular membership in Indie Streamers welcomes any current member - men, women, single or married - of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International, Inc. / Airstream Club International with an emphasis on independent travelers. Dues are $10 per year to cover administrative and rally expenses. The impetus for the Indie Streamers arose from conversations among Airstreamers who travel solo all or part of the time and encounter challenges not generally faced by those traveling with partners, such as:

  • Hitching alone
  • Backing without a spotter
  • Socializing as a single at rallies and on caravans
  • Ensuring safety on the road and at campgrounds
  • Care of pets while shopping or touring
  • Emergency repairs on the road
  • Cooking for one
  • Finding camping while in transit, planning ahead
  • Navigating when the GPS isn’t accurate
  • FINDING A COMMUNITY ON THE ROAD

By connecting with other Indie Streamers through a SLACK communication vehicle. members have the opportunity to ask and receive advice, learn how others have confronted these and other challenges, and potentially make connections for traveling and camping with other Indie Streamers.

Perhaps you have been solo streaming for years and have a wealth of information to share, or maybe you are just starting your journey and can bring a new perspective to the experience.  Either way, Indie Streamers can learn from each other.

We're looking forward to seeing you in person, online, and on the road!
