MailChimp email list intergration

How can I create an email list for my club/unit with automation?

Are you tired of trying to maintain your membership email list in a spreadsheet, and tired of importing emails every time you want to email your membership?  Then we have a solution for you.

Your club will need to create an account with MailChimp.com for this to work. Depending on the size of your club, you might be able to use the "free" account option.

The Free account allows for 500 emails a month with up to 250 emails/contacts.

  • Login to your MailChimp account.
  • Create a new audience. You can call it whatever you want, perhaps something like “Membership Sync”. This is the audience that all members/affiliates will be synced into.
  • Go to "Audience Dashboard”->Manage Audience->Settings and scroll to the bottom of the page. Copy the “unique audience ID” you see there.
  • Create a new API Key. Click top right on your account image (likely the initials of the account owner). Select “Account”->Extras->"Api Keys”. Then select “Create A Key”. Call it something like "Sync" and copy the resulting API Key.
  • Send an email to ITC@airstreamclub.org, with the Subject: "Request for Mailchimp email list sync"
  • In the email, let us know what club you are with and provide both the "Unique audience ID" and the API key.
  • ITC will let you know when this has been completed.
  • Your email list will be synced with the club's membership database once a day.
