THURSDAY
5:00 pm: Happy Hour – News, announcements, introductions, sign-ups, etc. Bring your own drink, hors d'oeuvre, chair.
6:00 pm: Low Country Boil. We will have a shrimp free option! Bring set-ups 7:00 pm: Host campfires per sign-up sheets
FRIDAY
8:00 – 9:30 am: Breakfast served in the pavilion by our first-class chefs. Menu is chef’s discretion. Crew help always appreciated.
A pontoon boat will be available all day for tours or swimming in the Salt Run. Cost is $5.00/hr per person . There will be a sign up sheet at breakfast. This is a fun way for anyone who wants to see the run to do so without rowing. Bring water shoes. Pontoon boats are available for individual rental as well.
Spring swimming is encouraged as it is exhilarating. Bring masks or goggles and snorkels. There is a gift shop available for these things. Tubes and floats are not allowed.
There are many activities: Hike Bear Swamp Trail (1 mile loop in the campground) or Salt Springs Observation Trail (1.9 mile loop trail, trailhead is on Hwy 19 on the left as you drive south), fishing, biking, shopping. Take a 40 mile drive to Barberville for a huge yard art emporium and a tour of Barberville Pioneer Settlement. Many cafes and restaurants are in both Barberville and Astor.
5:00 pm: Happy Hour. Bring your own drink, hors d'oeuvre, chair.
6:00 pm: Dinner on your own. Get reservations at Bass Champion’s. The VFW serves lunch and dinner each day. People stand in line for fried chicken at Salt Springs Grocery. Odd Todd’s has great reviews
SATURDAY
Breakfast on your own/explore campground/prepare for group kayak trip
8:30 am leave Salt Springs for 9:00 am launch from Gores Landing for a beautiful downstream 10 mile kayak run with David and Susan Poole. Hoping a few non paddlers will volunteer to help with shuttles. Of course, this will be weather dependent.
4:30 pm: Happy Hour and auction to benefit Fisher House.
6:00 pm: Club provided Brazilian steak. You will grill your own steak. Bring sides or desserts to share. Grills too if you have them.
SUNDAY
Breakfast on your own
Take hiking, fishing, snorkeling, biking, paddling opportunities. Say goodbye to new friends who have to leave early.
4:00 pm: Happy Hour
Dinner will be pot luck
Music, photo and video sharing
