Camping

The best part of rally? Camping with friends! We’re a camping club after all. Learn more about the North Dakota State Fairgrounds facilities, camping guidelines, arrivals and departures process below.

Fairground Facilities & Amenities

Campsites

This year, we are offering expanded camping options:

  • On-Site Electric: Located on the Fairgrounds proper, these hard surface sites will receive 30-amp service, 1 fresh water delivery, and pump-outs every 4 days. There is no shade in the majority of the on-site electric campgrounds.
  • Distance Economy: Located in NDSF’s White Lot, ¼ mile from the fairground’s entry gate, these hard surface sites will receive 30-amp electric, 1 fresh water delivery, and pump-outs every 4 days. There is no shade in this campground.
  • Off-Grid: Off-grid campers won’t receive electricity, water or pump-outs. These sites will be on grass and have limited shade.

Distance Economy Parking

Since the parking will be on a gravel surface, mats and rugs are recommended.

Electricity

Campsites with electricity will have 30-amp service:

  • Several outlets are mounted on a single post, so it is possible for a trailer to be 50 from the power source.
  • All rally participants should have additional 25’ power extension cords and any power adapters (dog bones) you may need to connect your trailer to a standard 30-amp RV outlet.
  • A surge protection device is recommended.

Fresh Water Delivery & Pump-Outs

Fresh water delivery and pump-outs are standard and reliable practices at North Dakota State Fairgrounds. Each year during their State Fair, they host as many RVs as we’re expecting for Rally2026, and they successfully deliver water and pump-outs to all of them. The rally team has coordinated with trusted local providers to ensure clean, fresh water is delivered and pump-outs are scheduled every 4 days, so you’ll have everything you need to stay comfortable. Additional fresh water delivery and pump-outs will be available for purchase if you desire.

Please arrive with full freshwater tank and empty holding tanks. You will be provided with the usual pump-out service. There are standard RV dump stations available near the camping areas. A “blue boy” may be handy.  NO GRAY WATER MAYBE DUMPED ON THE GROUND.

A freshwater fill-up will be provided on the same day as your pump-out service.  There is potable water available at several locations around the venue to fill portable containers like these.

Check out the "Making Every Drop Count" article in the Spring 2026 Blue Beret for tips and tricks to manage your tanks at rally.

Wally coined the phrase “self-contained” early in the design of Airstream. With a little planning and minor conservation, Airstream trailers will provide a comfortable home for the days of the rally.

Shuttles

As every year, there will be rally golf cart shuttles helping transport attendees around the fairgrounds. This year, there will be a dedicated shuttle stop at the NDSF Entrance Gate off 27th Street SE to transport attendees camping in Distance Economy to the ND State Fair Center where the majority of activities will be taking place.

Campground Etiquette

Let’s all strive to be good campground neighbors by abiding by the following campground policies:

Campfires

Unfortunately, campfires are not permitted on NDSF property.

Rally-Style Awnings

At an Airstream rally, parking is often closer together than at a typical campground. For this reason, we ask that all awnings be set up in “rally style.” This means you should extend your awning only partway—just far enough to provide shade and ventilation for your trailer—without reaching into the neighboring space. Side awnings should also be adjusted to avoid blocking walkways or encroaching on adjacent sites. Rally-style awnings help ensure everyone has enough room to move around comfortably and safely while still enjoying the benefits of shade and airflow.

Generators

To ensure a pleasant experience for all attendees, the use of generators is permitted under the following guidelines:

  • Quiet Hours: Generators may only be operated between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
  • Noise & Courtesy: Generators must not create unreasonable noise or disturb other campers. Please use models with noise-reduction features whenever possible.
  • Placement & Safety: Position generators to direct exhaust and noise away from neighboring trailers, walkways, and gathering spaces. Ensure proper ventilation and follow all safety precautions.
  • Respect for Neighbors: If a generator is causing a disturbance, rally staff may request that it be shut down.

By following these guidelines, we can all enjoy a comfortable and respectful rally environment.

Political Displays

The Airstream Club is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable environment for all members and guests. In keeping with this spirit, and to preserve the focus on fellowship, travel, and camping, political campaigning and displays of partisan political materials are not permitted at official Airstream Club events.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Political flags or banners
  • Campaign signs or stickers
  • Politically themed hats, pins, or clothing with slogans or logos
  • Distribution of campaign literature or materials
  • Active campaigning or soliciting support for candidates, parties, or ballot measures

We’re camping, not campaigning.

To ensure everyone can enjoy our events free from political tension or division, we kindly ask all attendees to leave political expressions at home.

This policy applies to:

  • Campsites within the rally or event grounds
  • Club-organized tours, seminars, meetings, caravans and social events
  • Exhibitor booths or displays
  • Club merchandise sales and promotional materials

This policy does not restrict personal, non-disruptive conversations. We simply ask that visible political displays be kept out of the event space.

Pet Policy

Well behaved pets are welcome to attend rally with you. We ask that you adhere to the following On-Grounds Pet Policy:

  • All pets must be on a 6-foot, non-retractable leash when outside the Airstream.
  • Always check collars and leashes to make sure they fit correctly and are working properly.
  • A size-appropriate pet containment system can be used at the campsite.
  • Pets are not permitted in the buildings or outside dining areas during a meal with the exception of working service animals as defined by the Americans with Disability Act.
  • During severe weather, pets may be taken into the designated shelters.
  • Well-mannered dogs are welcome to play and exercise in designated dog parks.
  • Always clean up after your pet.
  • Make sure your pet has an ID tag.
