LA28 National Event Rally

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the LA28 National Event Rally?

The LA28 National Event Rally is a once-in-a-generation gathering of Airstream Club members from across North America. Set against the backdrop of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, LA28-NER celebrates the people, friendships, and shared adventures that make the Airstream Club community extraordinary while drawing inspiration from the global celebration of the Games.

For many, it will be a chance to experience the Olympics in person. For all, it will be a journey filled with discovery, fellowship, and unforgettable memories. Together, we create a truly historic moment—where the spirit of silver meets the pursuit of gold.

What does "Where Silver Meets Gold" mean?

Our theme symbolizes the coming together of two remarkable traditions—the iconic silver legacy of Airstream and the inspiration of the Olympic Games. More importantly, it represents people coming together through shared journeys, friendships, and experiences.

Dates & Location

Where and when will the rally take place?

The rally takes place from the arrival date on July 12 to departure on July 20, 2028. Airstream Club members from across North America will gather in San Dimas, CA; close to public light rail offering connections to the various Olympic zones.

Can we book sites before or after the rally at Bonelli Bluffs?

We are exploring this possibility with the campground.

Where is the rally site in relation to Olympic Venues?

LA28 Olympic and Paralympic venues are located throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. Less than 3 miles away, Pomona hosts Cricket’s return to the Olympic Games at the Fairgrounds Cricket Stadium. You can access additional information about the Olympic venues via this link. We’re expecting nearby San Dimas to have light rail connecting to Pasadena and downtown LA before ending in Long Beach.

Registration and Deposits

Planning a National Event Rally during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games requires securing campsites and making financial commitments well in advance of the event. Therefore we are providing Early Registration and General Registration periods. Our phased registration process gives members an early opportunity to reserve a campsite using a refundable deposit before the final Rally Registration Fee is set. The General Registration period preserves additional registration opportunities for members who are unable to participate in the Early Registration period.

What will it cost to attend this rally?

The Rally Registration Fee is still being finalized.

What is the registration timeline?

October 2026: Early Registration

First Half of 2027: General Registration Opens

How many total sites are expected to be available?

We currently have 150 full-hookup campsites reserved at Bonelli Bluffs RV Resort. The campsites will be allocated approximately as follows:

  • 25 campsites — Rally leadership, planning committee members, and caravan leaders
  • 75 campsites — October 2026 Early Registration
    • at least 25 of these will be prioritized for members planning to attend Olympic events, volunteer with the Games, or participate in other Olympic-related activities.
  • Approximately 50 campsites — First half of 2027 General Registration

This allocation allows us to support rally operations, accommodate early planners, and preserve additional opportunities for members who aren't ready to register during the Early Registration period.

How do I secure my campsite now?

The Early Registration period opens October 2026 for members who are subscribed to the LA28_NER mailing list. Those members will receive Early Registration instructions in October 2026. Being on the mailing list does not guarantee you a campsite.

During the Early Registration period, a $500 deposit will be required to secure a campsite. The deposit is fully refundable, less the 3% payment processing fee, until seven (7) days after the final Rally Registration Fee is announced.

Once the Rally Registration Fee is announced, you'll have seven days to decide whether to continue with your reservation.

If you continue:

  • $250 of your deposit becomes non-refundable.
  • The remaining $250 remains refundable according to the Rally Cancellation Policy.

If you decide not to continue during the seven-day period, your $500 deposit will be refunded, less the 3% payment processing fee.

This process gives members the opportunity to secure a campsite early while allowing time to review the final Rally Registration Fee before making a final commitment.

Will there be a standby list?

Yes. A standby list will be maintained and campsites will be offered as cancellations occur.

If I purchased Olympic Tickets, will I be guaranteed a campsite?

Purchasing Olympic tickets does not guarantee a campsite. However, participants planning to attend Olympic events, volunteer with the Games, or participate in Olympic-related activities will have priority access to at least 25 campsites during the Early Registration process, provided they submit their names.

Travel

Will there be ACI organized caravans associated with this rally?

Yes. Several optional ACI caravans are expected to be available from regions across the United States and Canada, creating a continent-spanning network of Airstream journeys leading to Los Angeles.

Will Rally Registration Fees include Caravan costs?

No. Registration and payments associated with the optional caravans will be separate from the Rally registration. Details will be announced as they are finalized.

Do I need to travel with a caravan?

No. Organized caravans offer just one exciting way to experience the journey to LA28-NER.

Can I create my own travel route?

Absolutely. Organized caravans are one option, but many participants will travel independently, with friends or from nearby communities. Whether you travel with friends, join a caravan, or create your own adventure, you'll be part of the same celebration.

Who can I contact if I am interested in volunteering as a Caravan leader?

To learn more about leading caravans, please contact Teresa Tighe at: caravans@la28ner.org

Olympic Experience

Does registration include Olympic event tickets?

No. Rally registration and Olympic event tickets are separate.

When will Olympic tickets go on sale?

That schedule is determined by the Olympic organizers. The official site for securing tickets and information is: https://la28.org/

Will help be available for purchasing Olympic tickets and/or volunteering?

We'll share general information and resources as they become available, but participants will be responsible for obtaining their own tickets and signing up for volunteering for the Games. The official site for securing tickets and information is: https://la28.org/

Do I have to attend Olympic events to participate in this Rally?

Not at all. We look forward to welcoming all those invested in supporting the Olympic experience and celebration we are fostering even if they are not attending the Games.

Will transportation to Olympic venues be provided?

While we won’t be providing coordinated transportation to Olympic venues, we will be prepared to provide you with resources about how to best get to and from venues. We’re expecting nearby San Dimas to have light rail connecting to Pasadena and downtown LA before ending in Long Beach.

Will I be able to watch the Olympic games on-site with others?

Absolutely. We are working on providing multiple ways for us to watch the Olympics together. Our vision is that we transform the rally location into our own Airstream Club “Olympic Village”. Our Village will be the heart of the rally—a place to gather around the table, share stories, appreciate the spirit of Olympic competition, build friendships, and honor the journey.

Rally Experience

What activities will be offered?

Our Community and Hospitality Team is developing a variety of on-site experiences designed to bring people together, including sporting and non-sporting activities, opportunities to gather, and ways to experience the Olympic atmosphere together.

Details will be announced as plans are finalized.

Please note that no coordinated tours or trips to the Olympics venues are being contemplated. Those wishing to attend events will be required to purchase tickets on their own.
