Community Service

"To play some part in promoting international goodwill and understanding among the peoples of the world through person-to-person contact" - The Wally Byam Creed lives on through all of us as We Rally. Read below and please plan on participating in our community service efforts in Fryeburg as you're able.

65th Annual Airstream Club International Rally Philanthropy: Harvest Hills Animal Shelter

Each year, the Airstream Club International President selects a charity to be designated as the official philanthropic cause at International Rally. Our President, Tye Mott, a dog-lover who will be travelling to Rally with his welsh terrier, Doakie, has designated Harvest Hills Animal Shelter as this year's cause. Harvest Hills is located in Fryeburg and operates a thrift store adjacent to the shelter.

All proceeds from goods donated to the Nine Lives Thrift Shop go directly to help feed the animals at the shelter. Whether you are donating unwanted items or making a purchase, you are helping to support the homeless animals. Donation drop off hours are Wednesdays from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., and the thrift store operating hours can be found here

Please refer to the Harvest Hill's web page for the shelter's wish list and how you can help. Thank you in advance for your generosity to this great local cause!

Annual Local Food and Clothing Drive

Contribute to our annual tradition of providing support to local groups and shelters by donating hats (homemade or store bought), stuffed animals, blankets or throws, women's shelter items, tabs (we cash them in for Ronald McDonald House), food pantry items and pet supplies for cats and dogs. This year's annual drive will provide a great tie-in with the official Rally Philanthropy as described above!

Red Cross Blood Drive

Make plans now to set aside time to donate blood on Tuesday, July 26 or Wednesday, July 27 between 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. both days.

The Red Cross Blood Drive will take place in the air conditioned Expo Center, with snacks and beverages provided for those who donate. Whether you've donated before or this will be your first time, all are welcome to participate in this community service opportunity!

To reserve a time to donate ahead of time, visit www.redcrossblood.org. Insert the sponsor code, "airstream" and dates 26-27 July 2022, then all available appointments will be displayed. Reservations are recommended to avoid a wait time and walk-ins may be accepted.

If you are available to volunteer to assist with the blood drive, please contact Scott Graham, BRN 23945 at 210-347-8760 or email graham23945@gmail.com
