Top Two Museums in Kansas City: The National World War One Museum and the Steamboat Arabia
The WWI museum is a National Landmark dedicated to preserving the history and artifacts of the First World War. It features weaponry, cannons, a 1917 Harley-Davidson army motorcycle, and even a simulated trench with sound effects. There are also posters, uniforms, films, maps, music and much more to explore! During this trip, lunch won't be provided, but you can dine at the "Over There Cafe" inside the museum. It offers delicious and affordable food, and you can even return to the museum after eating to see more exhibits. Don't forget to check out the gift shop with books, pictures, and DVDs on military history. Next, we'll visit the Steamboat Arabia Museum, offering a treasure hunting adventure! This steamboat sank in 1856 but was discovered 132 years later with its cargo intact. You'll see frontier necessities like clothing, shoes, canned goods, toys, and more, all beautifully displayed thanks to a special preservation process. It's an interesting experience with knowledgeable docents guiding you through the exhibits.
