One of the best-kept secrets in New Mexico is the enchanting Village of Chama. With an elevation of 7860 feet, Chama is nestled high in the Southern Rockies, just 120 miles North of Santa Fe.


The historic Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad steam trains leave the Chama depot daily from Memorial Day weekend to mid-October. Riding the railroad is a day trip of exhilarating rugged mountain views.

Highway 133 Northbound from Redstone

Do not follow GPS onto Satank Road on West side of Highway 133 (this will lead you into Satank and to an old railroad bridge that is now a bike and pedestrian bridge)

Stay on Highway 133 through town and to the intersection with Highway 82
Take a left at the stoplight at this intersection and another left in 1.5 miles onto the County Road 106 (AKA Satank Road)
Head East for one mile on this road and stay left an any intersections to arrive at the entrance to the park

Join us in the beautiful and peaceful valley in Meeker Colorado for the 2023 Meeker Classic Sheep Dog Trials. These trials are the culmination of several competitions and the winner takes the grand prize. There are art auctions, great restaurants, lots of outdoor events in the area and fun with people from all over the world. We will be staying at the Trail & Hitch campground just east of town and more news will be forthcoming regarding additional things to do while in the area.

Carter Lake is easily accessible from the Front Range, about 1 hour north of Denver. There are great hiking trails around the lake which also offers bathing, boating and fishing. Campsites are situated along the lake and pull-throughs are plentiful.

Creede Wagon Wheel 2023 Wagon Wheel Rally in Creede 18 - 22 Sep 1800 USFS Rd 510 Creede CO 81130 Join us at the Carmichael's beautiful 165 acre "Dabney Ranch" for 5 days, 4 nights of dry camping at the height of "color season."
Enjoy fly fishing, hiking, the town of Creede, CO and discovering the magic of the Wagon Wheel.

Registration will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 15. This event will fill very quickly.

PLEASE COORDINATE WITH YOUR SPOUSE/PARTNER to avoid a double registration, since it's difficult to restore the number of sites available.

We will be asking all attendees to help with meal coordination / set up / clean up. The rally will include 4 group meals ( 1 potluck-style, one hot dog roast, 1 heavy appetizers provided by Carmichaels, and one Dutch Oven meal).

CAC Pallsade Teaser Spring is Time for Hike and Wine @ Palisade 22 - 25 Apr 1055 Interstate 70 Palisade CO 81526 Come out of the cold and join us at Palisade to start the 2024 camping season. Weather averages 46 degrees at night and 67 during the day. Drive the Colorado National Monument, hike the Palisade Rim trail, take the wine tour at Red Fox Cellars or just relax next to the Colorado River.

CAC Sand Dunes The Great Sand Dunes Rally 9 - 13 May 7800 Highway 150 North Mosca CO 81146 It will be Springtime in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado.  The dune field itself lies in a pocket within the Sangre de Cristo Mountains because southwesterly winds push the sand into this natural entrapment. 

Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve is in southern Colorado. It’s known for huge dunes like the towering Star Dune, and for the seasonal Medano Creek and beach created at the base of the dunes. The backcountry Medano Pass Primitive Road winds through a canyon toward the Sangre de Cristo mountains. Trails lead to forests, wetlands and alpine lakes like Medano Lake, which is home to trout and tundra wildlife.

This rally is to welcome new members and will help you learn more about your Airstream! Seminars and hands-on demos will be presented on a variety of topics around your trailer as well as helpful hints for making camping trips fun, safe, and comfortable. This rally is also focused on welcoming new members! There will be time set aside for introductions to other CAC members and to meet the CAC leadership team. There will be plenty of time for open and general discussion, off-site exploring and socializing! All culminating with music and dancing Saturday night.

CAC ghost Ranch Ghost Ranch / Georgia O'Keefe Rally 10 - 14 Jun 280 Private Drive 1708 Abiquiu NM 87510 A golden opportunity to explore the Ghost Ranch and the life of famed artist Georgia O’Keefe awaits us!

We’ve been given permission to hold a 30-rig Wagon Wheel rally on the mowed alfalfa field in front of the Welcome Center. This rally features group activities including Sunrise and/or Sunset Paddles via kayak, canoe or paddle board, private group tours of Georgia O’Keefe’s Abiquiu house plus dinner at the Trip Advisor highly-rated Cafe Abiquiu. On your own, explore scenes O’Keefe painted by van, hiking or horseback.

This is a boondocking/dry camping rally for new and experienced boondockers. Tripbook information available to attendees.

cac steamboat springs Summer in Steamboat Springs 24 - 28 Jun 3606 US Highway 40 Steamboat Springs CO 80487 The snow will be long gone: off the sidewalks, the bike path, the golf courses, the pickleball and tennis courts, out of the Yampa River and Steamboat Lake.

This rally at the KOA's new island sites will be as action packed or as low key as you choose. In addition to Steamboat's many summer activities, there are several optional activities: a Sunset Happy Hour at the top of the resort's Gondola, a soak in the incomparable mountain waters of Strawberry Hot Springs, tubing down the Yampa River and a friendly round of pickleball at the new Tennis and Pickleball Center. Grab your fishing poles, paddle boards, bicycles, kayaks, hiking boots, lawn chairs, sunscreen and any other summer toys and come up to the Yampa Valley to play the Steamboat way!

We'll meet up for Happy Hour each evening at 5pm at the campground. Exact site location and appetizer details will be provided before arrival.

All sites must be booked through CAC, not through the KOA.
