President’s Monthly Message

As the baton is about to be passed, thanks to Sam for keeping us all up to date on what is happening in our Airstream Club every month. I hope to follow in his footsteps - but he leaves big shoes to fill, and I only wear a size 7. 

Announcing a Night at the Santa Fe Opera ... Ready, Set GO!!

Opera tickets are now on sale at 35% off through December 4 with promo code 2024Fall35

Our date with the New Mexico Unit for the Santa Fe Opera production of Donizetti's "Elixir of Love" is set for July 25-28, 2024. Plans are to attend the opening night performance on Saturday, July 27, at 8:30 pm - preceded by a tailgate party starting at 5:30. More details to follow, but the important part is to make your campsite reservations and purchase your opera tickets starting NOW.

Lisa Sly, President of the New Mexico Unit, has made arrangements for us to stay at Santa Fe Skies RV Park, where they are holding 20 sites for our group ($76/night). Call them at 877-565-0451 or 505-473-5946 and let them know you want a spot with the Airstream Club Opera Rally.

Then reserve your own tickets for the Saturday, July 27 performance of "Elixir" at the Santa Fe Opera - website: https://official.santafeopera.org/11425/11426 (this link includes the 35% off discount available through December 4 on seats in zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9). Or call the box office at 800-280-4654 or 505-986-5900. Seats will be assigned in December or January. We were planning to sit in Zone 3, but with the sale might splurge and order them in Zone 2.

As soon as we work out rally fees we will open registration for the rally itself on the Arizona Airstream Club website. And I encourage you to explore the Santa Fe Opera website for additional information about the performance.

Bisbee Rally, May 2-5

I understand the 17 sites that we had set aside at the Queen Mine RV Park sold out in a matter of hours. Brian at the park is keeping a waitlist in case there are any cancellations. Airstream Club registration for this rally will be open soon. In the meantime, we could certainly schedule an additional May or early June rally  if a member would like to host and plan it.

Buckskin Mountain State Park "River Fun on the Parker Strip" April 11-14

I have received a couple of inquiries about when registration will open for this event, but have been hoping that a host would step forward. If not, we will release it soon as a "Just Camping, No-Host Rally. 

El Centro, California "Blue Angels" Rally March 7-11

Our hosts Anne and Joe Thomas are close to opening this event for Airstream Club registration. In the meantime, if you plan to attend and have not already done so, you should call the Rio Bend RV Resort at 800-545-6481 to reserve a ramada site with the Arizona Airstream Club group.

Valentine's Day in the White Tanks February 11-14

A weekday, dry camping rally hosted by Diane and Jim Rumbo, is open for registration now. Diane and Jim have planned a catered dinner, campfires at the large fire pit, covered ramadas, group area, and fun Valentine's Day activities.

The Views at Dolores Rally June 20-24

Experience the Wonders of the Canyon of the Ancients

Host Julie Cook has planned a variety of activities for us to enjoy in the cooler air of Colorado. Registration is open and spot there are still plenty of available spots.

I can't wait to see everyone who is attending the Birds and Barrels Rally this coming weekend! More to come in January.
